Exploring Vietnam – 12 days

Exploring every famous place from the North to the South (or reverse) including: Hanoi, Sapa, Halong Bay, Catba Island, Hue, Hoi An, Saigon and Mekong Delta. Daily departure from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh.

Day 1 – Hanoi: Arrival in Hanoi, we welcome you at airport and transfer to hotel. After a refeshment, start the city tour. Evening, transfer to train station and overnight on a night train to Sapa. L
Day 2 – Sapa: Early morning, arrival in Lao Cai station. Transfer to Sapa town. Morning shower and breakfast at hotel. Start trekking to admire the stunning scenery of Sapa. Overnight in a local house of a Dzay family. B,L,D
Day 3 –  Sapa: Experience the beautiful Sapa, visit nearby villages before transfer back to the township. On a night train back to Hanoi. Overnight on train. B,L,D
Day 4 – Halong bay: Early morning, Arrival in Hanoi. Breakfast at hotel then transfer to Halong bay. Cruising through thousand of islands and islets in Halong bay. Visit famous attractions in Halong bay. Overnight on boat. B,L,D
Day 5 – Halong bay: Visit Van Gia floating village, Cat Ba island and Nam Cat island. Overnight in Bungalow on Nam Cat island. B,L,D
Day 6 – Halong bay: Passing by Halong Pearl Farm, relax and have lunch on boat and say goodbye to the crew. Back to Hanoi.  Overnight at hotel in Hanoi. B,L
Day 7 – Flight Hanoi- Hue: Visit some famous and historical places in Hue city. Transfer to Hoi An. Overnight at hotel in Hoi An. B,L
Day 8 – Hoi An: Morning, visit My Son Sanctuary. Afternoon, visit famous places in the ancient town of Hoi An. Overnight at hotel in Hoi An. B,L
Day 9 – Ho Chi Minh: Morning, your leisure for relaxation in Hoi An. Transfer to airport for flight to Ho Chi Minh. Afternoon, transfer to Cu Chi and explore Cu Chi Tunnel. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh. B
Day 10 – Mekong delta: Leave Ho Chi Minh for My Tho and Ben Tre. Take a boat trip on mekong river to a family business which epitomizes the idyllic rural lifestyle, walking through the fruit plantation village. Overnight in Can Tho. B,L
Day 11 – Mekong delta: Boat trip to visit Phong Dien floating market. Proceed to rice noodle making village and Cai Rang floating market. See the ordinery daily life on Mekong river. Transfer back to Ho Chi Minh. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh. B,L
Day 12 – Ho Chi Minh: Morning, Ho Chi Minh city, visit famous places in the city. After finish the tour, transfer to airport for your departure flight. B, L

Arrival in Hanoi, we welcome you at airport and transfer to hotel. After a refeshment, start the tour by visiting the Ho Chi Minh Complex: Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum and his Stilts House, Presidential Palace and the One Pillar Pagoda nearby, the Temple of Literature – The site of Vietnam´s first University, built in 11th century, to teach the royals the Confucius theory.

Have lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, we continue visiting the Lake of the Restored Sword and Ngoc Son Temple, peaceful West Lake or Ho Tay with lovers Thanh Nien Street, the sedate Tran Quoc Pagoda and Quan Thanh Temple and one of the city’s museums, either the History Museum or the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology (or Hoa Lo Prison Museum – The Hanoi Hilton).

In the late afternoon, enjoy a traditional Vietnamese water puppet show. We will take 1 hour cyclo tour around the Old Quarter of Hanoi which also known as the 36 streets and guilds. The tour ends at your hotel late in the afternoon.

It’s your free time now to have dinner and a short while to explore the streets of Hanoi. After your dinner, around 20.00, Our tour assistant pick up from your hotel to go to Tran Quy Cap train station. He will lead you to your cabin on the train. The train departs for Sapa and sleep the night on train. Travel time approx 9 hrs.

Please note that the Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum is open every morning except for Monday and Friday, and most museums are closed on Mondays.

The train arrives at the Lao Cai train station at approximately 06:00. There will be a vehicle waiting to transfer us to Sapa. Driving to Sapa is only 38 km but it takes around one hour to make our way up the mountains. Once at Sapa, we will check into the hotel (if the room is available – check in time after 12:00). After freshening up and having breakfast we are ready to explore Sapa town. We embark on a lovely walking tour to the hill tribe village of Cat Cat, home of the H’Mong hill tribe minority people. As we walk to the villages nestled in the valley below Sapa we will meet some of the local minority people on their way to and from Sapa. Here we have the opportunity to share cultural experiences with families that live in the area. Overnight in Sapa.


Breakfast in the hotel we then, embark on a lovely trek that will take us along buffalo paths and trails and through several hills tribe villages Lao Chai & Ta Van, home to Black H’mong, and Dzay people. This is an absolutely spectacular walk through stunning scenery inhabited by some of the friendliest people you can meet. Once on the valley floor you can really appreciate the wonderful scenery that surrounds you. The walls of the valley are covered with multi-layered rice terraced fields and scattered villages. Return to Sapa and then to Lao Cai railway station by car. The guide sees you off there and takes you on the train.

Arrive at Tran Quy Cap station (in Hanoi) at 5.00am. Our tour assistant welcomes you back and accompany you to hotel for morning shower and have a breakfast.

08:00 – 08:30 Pick-up at your hotel and depart for Halong city.
12:00 – 12:15 On arrival at Halong city, you will board your Imperial Junk Boat and your are warmly welcomed by professional and friendly crew. Check into cabin.
13:00 Enjoy specially prepared lunch while cruising towards thousands of amazing limestone islands emerging from emerald water, passing by Stone Dog islet, floating fishing village, incense burner islet, fighting cocks islet,…

16:00 Kayaking for an hour or more through slide rock cliffs.

17:30 Swimming time, this is great chance to relax in water, jumping, diving, take a back flip, somersault.

18:15 Joint the sunset party on the sundeck in warm and romantic atmosphere, drinking wine, enjoy fresh fruits, listening soft, light music from the sundeck bar..

20:30 – The moment you choose your own way to relax after dinner, watching movies, listening to Vietnamese traditional music.

Besides, board games, squid fishing available for entertainment during the night time.


06:00 – Morning exercise with our Tai Chi master, a perfect healthy way to start a new day.

07:00 – Enjoy your breakfast, coffee, tea, fruits.

08:00 – Visit the Surprising Cave – the most beautiful one in Halong Bay

09:30 – Transfer to our daily boat, sailing through Lan Ha bay for 2 hours.

11:30 – Arrive at bungalow for check in.

12:00 – Lunch in the restaurant at the bungalow – Catba Sandy Beach.

13:00 – Enjoy your private time at leisure, relaxing, sunbathing on the beach or using some services available on the bungalow like playing football, volleyball, kayaking to explore untouched area nearby bungalow. Optional trip (biking trip to Viet Hai village 13:30-17:00) must be booked in advance, extra U.S. $5/ person.

18:30 – Having BBQ dinner in bungalow Catba Sandy Beach

20:30 – Relax at leisure on your own or joint some activities in bungalow – Catba Sandy Beach.

Day 6: Cat Ba Island – Halong Bay – Hanoi (B, L)

07:00 – Breakfast served at bungalow, check out time

08:15 – Pick-up at Bungalow by boat (incase you stay at the hotel in Catba Town: 07:00 Breakfast at the hotel. 07:30 Pick-up at the hotel by bus back to the boat)

09:30 – Get on the cruise to attend the cooking class while cruising back Halong harbor

11:15 – Farewell lunch served on the cruise before you arrive at harbor around 12:00 and get on the bus back to Hanoi

17:00 – Transfer you back to your hotel.

DAY 7: Flight Hanoi to Hue CITY TOUR (B,L)

In the afternoon we will visit Imperial capital during Nguyen Dynasty and the seven – storey Thien Mu Pagoda on the riverbank. Return by boat on the gentle Perfume River and do not miss the sunset on the river. You will come back your hotel at 17.30pm to pick up your luguage.

DAY 8: HOI AN – MY SON SANCTUARY (B,L)At 8.00, Our guide picks you up at hotel and leave Hoi An for visiting My Son Holly Land – the ruins of Cham people and was an imperial city during Cham dynasty. Here you can have more chance to explore and understand of technique of Old Cham people in making red bricks to build Tower which still now a secret to everyone, you can see a large complex of religious relics that comprises more than 65 architectural works. It also surprises for those who are curious with architectural art. In 1999, UNESCO labeled the Cham architecture in My Son as a World Cultural Heritage Site. Moreover, you have chance to enjoy traditional music performed by Cham girls in their colorful uniforms.

12:00 AM: Leave My Son and transfer to boat – station, get on boat cruise along Thu Bon river to traditional craft village of Thanh Ha pottery and Kim Bong carpentry villages. A snack will be served on boat. Arrive Hoi An river dock at 3PM. Say goodbye. The end of tour .

Morning, your leisure time for exploring the ancient town yourself or get a coffee to enjoy the peaceful ambiance of the town. Afternoon, transfer to Da Nang airport for flight to Ho Chi Minh city.

Around 8.00am, Leave Ho Chi Minh city, enjoy the scenic journey along the National Highway bordered by green rice fields. On arrived at My Tho, visit Vinh Trang pagoda, take a leisurely boat ride along the river, view stilt houses, fruit plantations and fishing villages along the river bank. Proceed to Tortoise islet, have lunch in the orchard garden. Then a boat ride to An Khanh, a less touristy attraction in Ben Tre, enjoy cruising on a hand-rowed sampan under the shade of the water coconut trees along natural canals.

Have a short cycling tour then enjoy seasonal fruit & honey tea to the sound of “Southern Vietnamese folk music”, performed by the locals. Visit a family business which epitomizes the idyllic rural lifestyle, taste delicious coconut candy & observe the pastoral life as you roam through fruit plantations and villages. Proceed to Can Tho. Free time to visit bustling Can Tho market.

Stay overnight in Can Tho.

Take a leisurely boat trip to explore the picturesque tributaries of the Lower Mekong river ( Bassac River), then proceed to visit Cai Răng floating market (Alt: Phong Dien market), which are the liveliest in the whole religion. Have you ever tasted Vietnamese vermicelli soup? Well, now go and see how it is made. Then wander around the village and meet the friendly local people and experience how to cross a “Monkey bridge” which is built by only o­ne stem of bamboo. Visit the orchard garden.

Stop for lunch. On the way back to Ho Chi Minh city by bus the last stop is to see how incense sticks are made. Arrive in Ho Chi Minh city at 05.30pm.

Morning, Ho Chi Minh City tour. We start the trip by visiting Notre Dame Cathedral, the historic Central Post Office, followed by exploring the Reunification Palace, and the remarkable site of the War Remnants Museum,

Afternoon, visit Cu Chi Tunnels. Located 60km from HCMC, Cu Chi is now a popular spot for both Vietnamese & foreign tourists – the network of over 200km of tunnels became legendary when they played a vital role in the War. In their heyday, the tunnels were functioning underground cities including numerous trap doors, specially constructed living areas, storage facilities, weapons factories, field hospitals, command centers & kitchens.

Finish the tour at 17.30. We transfer you to airport for your departure flight.
